Quote of the Day

I haven't done one of these in awhile, but this post on Cup of Jo got me thinking about the words I try to live by. Then I found a card with this printed on the front, which is now clipped to my fridge for daily inspiration.

"If you're going to be passionate about something, be passionate about learning. If you're going to fight something, fight for those in need. If you're going to question something, question authority. If you're going to lose something, lose your inhibitions. If you're going to gain something, gain respect and confidence. And if you're going to hate something, hate the false idea that you are not capable of your dreams."
~Daniel Golston

If I had to pick a motto to live by, this would be my second choice after "love your neighbor as yourself". I think it's just about perfect.

What is your motto to live by?

Quote of the Day

"Imagine every day to be the last of a life surrounded with hopes, cares, anger, and fear. The hours that come unexpectedly will be so much more the grateful."

Quote of the Day

Today I was fiddling around in the blogworld and found this...

Such simple and sweet words to live by, no? And yet, when you think about it, not always an easy thing to do.

Quote of the Day

"Far away in the sunshine are my highest aspirations. I may not reach them, but I can look up and see their beauty, believe in them, and try to follow where they lead."

Quote of the Day

"If I can stop one heart from breaking,
I shall not live in vain.
If I can ease one life the aching,
Or cool one pain,
Or help one fainting robin
Unto his nest again,
I shall not live in vain."
~Emily Dickinson

Well said, so I really have nothing more to add.

Quote of the Day

"Only a life lived for others is a life worthwhile." ~Albert Einstein

I'm apt to agree with this one. Not that we can't care for ourselves- but to live a life in which you know you've impacted others, that seems so goalworthy.

Feel free to agree or disagree in the comments (nicely please).
