100th Blog Post!

One Happy Panda has officially reached 100 blog posts! I thought it called for a little celebration, and some nostalgia...

Some things you may or may not have seen already:
The spending hiatus.
The classic Chewbacca hair moment
and then I chop my hair off
and smear honey all over my face
and make scrubs with other food type things.
I take pictures of gorillas
and then force myself to sleep (zzz).

Here's toward making it 1,000! :)

PS: I'm playing with the template and colors of the blog, and feedback is much appreciated, especially if anything is difficult to read or see.

It's Fat Tuesday!

Just an excuse to eat extra brownies. Or wear a sweet pink mask like this one from Etsy. I chose the brownies.

Happy Valentines Day

Whether you're going out, staying in, or ignoring the day completely, have a good one.

A few Valentines Day posts I didn't have time for:

The World's Smallest Valentine (which you can customize!)

An adorable lovebirds greeting card (above)

A button I probably need to buy (hi Nathan!)

Not a Valentines Day person at ALL? Support V-day instead (and help end violence against women and girls)

Valentines Day Flowers

Today I stumbled across Susannah Conway, a photographer featured on Bliss, and was captivated by her beautiful images of the world around her. I especially loved these two photos of flowers: "Solitude" (above) and "Sunshine" (below). Wouldn't they make a perfect Valentines Day gift?
It's like getting your sweetie flowers without having to pay the ridiculous florist shop prices (twice as much money for the same flowers just because it's Valentines Day? I think not!).

Images belong to Susannah Conway, and you can see more on her etsy shop Unravelling

Valentine's Coupons

I like the idea of printing off a little coupon book for your loved one on Valentines Day. Not only is the idea totally cute, but low-key as well (and relatively free!). You can make your own coupons personalized with things you know your sweetie would like, or order them from the Etsy shop everydaygrace.

Happy MLK Day!

Dear readers, I hope you have had a lovely Monday. Today I was off of school and work due to Martin Luther King Jr. Day and I have made it a spectacularly lazy long weekend. I slept in late, had fried chicken for breakfast/lunch here (the student's version of brunch), and tried to get caught up on homework. I also took an extraordinarily long, hot, 100% not eco-friendly shower *blush* that I very much enjoyed and gave myself an at-home pedi, because my feet wanted it. Is there anything better than not being pressed for time?

I do feel a bit guilty about being so lazy though.

You can read about Barack Obama doing something much more useful with MLK Day here.

Belated New Years

Well 2009 has gotten off to a start and so far, so good. I love this time of year because everything seems new- I haven't gotten tired of old resolutions and I haven't broken them either.

So here are a few resolutions I made to myself this year:

Read a few good books.

Remember to feed the cat every day.

Spend less money at The Goodwill.

Make a new friend.

Drink absolutely no soda pop until February 1st (eep).

Laugh and smile at least ten times a day :) (there's one)

What resolutions have you made? Heading to the gym this year? Giving up candy? Think resolutions are overrated?
